Hyde Park Activities

The following are ongoing activities that can be found on the Main Monthly Calendar which can be linked to on the Monday Morning Memo. Guests are welcome to attend selected events when accompanied by a Hyde Park Resident. Direct questions about the activities to the Social Committee. Various participation fees are required for some activities for all participants including guests. 

Monthly Activities

  • Second Saturday Breakfast - Two to four households are paired and assigned a specific month to prepare and host a continental breakfast held on the second Saturday each month.  At the conclusion of the breakfast, the HOA briefs attendees on information regarding the Hyde Park community. Cost is $3.00 per person ($1.00 per person if not eating). The proceeds refund the hosts’ costs and excess funds go to the Social Committee’s petty cash fund. Interested in hosting?   • Monthly Social Event - The Social Committee plans dates and themed monthly social events. Residents volunteer to host, plan the food and activities for the event.  Cost of an event varies but is generally $15-$25 per person depending on the food menu. Volunteering to host these events is always welcome! Contact paulaAWise@icloud.com or Kelliedph@sbcglobal.net to learn more. 

  • Book Club - The Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the clubhouse conference room at 6:30 PM. Books are chosen for three months at a time. A list can be obtained from Cathy Covington at ccovington1@outlooik.com. Each month’s book read is listed on the Main Monthly Calendar. Residents are encouraged to facilitate discussion. 

  • Lunch Out - Residents sign up to host a monthly “Lunch Out” with the host selecting the date and location. This event is open to all Hyde Park residents and their guests. Participants may carpool with neighbors or meet at the restaurant at the designated start time. Residents pay for their own meals.   • Bingo - Bingo is played every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM in the clubhouse dining room. Normally ten games are played with a final black out at the end of the evening.  Cost is $5.00 for two cards. All prizes are cash. Popcorn is served. Bring your favorite beverage.  Please contact sfarley62@yahoo.com with questions about Bingo!

  • Bunco - This is a very simple and fast paced dice game that is played on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM in the clubhouse dining room. Popcorn is served. Bring your favorite beverage. To get more information contact janice44@swbell.net 

  • Social Hour - This event is held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays in the clubhouse dining room. Bring a snack to share with your neighbors and your favorite beverage. Some Social Hours are themed and details are provided to residents about this event by email. NEW–Starting June 2024 – We are going to have a piano bar during the first Social Hour of each month! Hyde Park pianists will entertain us with Name That Tune, Sing A Longs, and Piano Bar music! 

  • Siamese Mah Jongg -  What’s more fun than playing a hand of Mah Jongg? Playing two hands of Mah Jongg at the same time! This fun and challenging game is called Siamese Mah Jongg. (https://americanmahjonggforeveryone.com/siamese-mah-jongg/) Siamese Mah Jongg will be played in the card room from 6-8 pm,1st Monday of each month. Questions? Contact okiedeb27@gmail.com

Other Activities

  • Poker - Some residents meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 2 pm in the dining room of the clubhouse to play Poker. Bring $5.00 to play. Contact hathawayep@msn.com to be added to the contact list for Poker.

  • Bridge - Some residents meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 2:00 pm in the card room to play Bridge. Contact PaulaAWise@icloud.com to be added to the contact list for Bridge.

  • Bible Study Discussion - This non-denominational facilitated activity meets at 10:30 am to noon on Thursdays in the conference room of the clubhouse. Contact jandavis0908@gmail.com for more information

Weekly Activities

  • Games - All residents are invited to meet in the card room every Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Table games, card games, domino games are just a few of the types of games that are enjoyed by Hyde Park Residents. Questions? Contact jim@jimweems.com

  • Pegs & Jokers - This board game is played every Monday at 1:00 pm in the car room. It is an interesting game that is easy to learn. For more information contact jim@jimweems.com

  • Mah Jongg - If you enjoy playing Mah Jongg or want to learn to play, there are scheduled Mah Jongg events at the clubhouse. More experienced players meet on Tuesdays and play from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Friday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to play in the card room. Contact bnpdugger@sbcglobal.net about joining us for Mah Jongg play! Beginners or those interested in learning this challenging game are encouraged to contact okiedeb27@gmail.com

Physical Activities

  • Pickleball - The Hyde Park residents take pride in our pickleball facility and enjoy this popular sport. Scheduled times to play with other residents can be found on the Main Monthly Calendar. All skill levels are invited to participate. There are open play, beginner, novice, competitive, men’s and women’s play opportunities throughout the week.   • Weight/Fitness Room - Open 24/7! Use at your leisure.

 

Library- All Hyde Park residents have access to our beautiful library located in the clubhouse. Residents may check out Tulsa City County Library books as well as those owned by the Hyde Park library. Questions? Contact rmcbteach@sbcglobal.net or mcandrp@gmail.com .

 

Special Events

Check the main monthly calendar and watch for flyers via email for special events. These events include musical performances, sporting events, town hall meetings, and more. Check the Monday Morning Memo and the Main Monthly Calendar to stay current on Special Events and other Hyde Park Activities. 

Reservations

Outside guests may be invited into the clubhouse by Hyde Park residents who have reserved facilities. Reserve a space for a family or personal event or activity by contacting hydepark@collins-associates.net with Collins & Associates. Penny Kampf is our on-site property manager.
